1st Upton Scout Group, Malvern

Contact: Mervyn Howells

Boys only at present, their Troop has a mixture of Sea Scouts and ordinary Scouts. They have included a full Sea Scout programme since April 1998 when neighbouring 1st Hanley Sea Scout Group merged with them.

1st Winyates, Redditch

Contact: David Hemming

Mixed boys and girls. Spreading their (water) wings further this year?

Stourport Mid Severn

Contact: Rachel Everett

Re-launched on 12th January 2004 at new Group HQ when it became the ONLY troop in Stourport to welcome girls. It also has a wonderful Boat Shed/adventure centre and use of the District's new canoes. Just inherited some sailing dinghies; now needing an instructor and suitable water.

5th Worcester

Contact: Hannah Male

Boys & Girls. Riverside location with Boat Shed and Slipway, several boats, pulling and power, as well as kayaks together with Leaders and Scouts who use them.

North Worcester Explorer Unit offers some seamanship and water activities too.

Also liaison with 15th Gloucester SS, Leader Peter Cole. This troop, from out of our County, because they are the sole Sea Scout Group in their County. They are making good progress.

Myself, John Stribblehill, County Sea Scout Leader and member of the Water Activities Team. Acts as liaison between the above Groups, (troops especially), the Water Team and the Midland Sea Scout Committee (MSSC) to encourage higher standards of Sea Scouting with more emphasis on Nautical Skills (Seaman) series of Scout Proficiency Badges - also Pulling and Power Cox, all leading towards Admiralty Recognition.

Initial contact with any and all of the above can be made via telephone or an email to me at the following address:
